When people are confronted with an unpleasant reality,
what are the options available?
confrontation or avoidance.
Confrontation is pretty simple and straightforward.. You face the unpleasant reality and you tackle it straight on.
Avoidance has a little more variety on its side.
There's escapism - flights of fancy, withdrawing into fantasy world, etc.. e.g. mind just boiled over.
and chemical-based avoidance - hallucinogenic drugs, alcohol, magic mushrooms.. e.g. too high to care.
also included in that list, denial - which is a form of escapism but noteworthy enough to warrant it's own line.
then there's my favourite, running.
Yeap.. I run away from my problems, never noticed that before but now i'm picking this option more and more...
and soon I'll be running again..
